A week off from tracking
I was exhausted, and not only physically. I was mentally tired of tracking, planning, and turning every meal into data I would have to account for later.
What I tried
I stopped for a week. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted it. I did not weigh anything. I did not journal about it here or anywhere else. No numbers, no notes, and no writing my meals back to myself.
When I returned the next week, I felt clearer than I had in a while. I had not lost the progress I had been worried about protecting. The week off did not undo anything.
Tracking and planning are supposed to support the gaining. Over time I had started treating the tracking as the main job. I do not plan to drop the routine. It helps to know I can pause for a week without losing ground.
