Choosing ease when energy is low
I have learned that pushing through fatigue to cook something complicated usually backfires. Today I kept the plan simple: one pot, long simmer, minimal chopping. The polenta came together while I rested nearby.
Eating it slowly in sections let me get the nourishment without the exhaustion of a full sitting. I am noticing that these low effort days still move the needle when I stay consistent with them.
What the day actually looked like
The polenta simmered mostly unattended. I checked it twice and added the cheese110 kcal and butter102 kcal at the end. Sausage went on top in small tender pieces. I ate the first portion warm from the pot, then returned for more after a rest on the couch. By the time the sun went down the bowl was gone and I had not once felt overwhelmed by the task.
