Chocolate tahini banana shake

Easier-to-swallow option below ↓
chocolate-tahini-shake, creamy-top

Tahini89 kcal is the quiet engine of this shake. Two tablespoons bring sesame richness and a good dose of fat, the banana105 kcal adds body and natural sweetness, and cocoa12 kcal makes the whole glass taste like a chocolate milkshake. It takes one blender and under a minute, and the glass holds roughly 620 calories.

Why it works

Drinking calories is often easier than chewing them, and fat carries more energy per sip than anything else in the glass. The tahini and whole milk149 kcal do most of the lifting here, while the banana keeps the texture thick and the honey64 kcal rounds out the cocoa's bitterness.

The pinch of salt matters more than it looks. It sharpens the chocolate and keeps the sesame from tasting flat.

Use a ripe banana with brown speckles. An underripe one leaves the shake starchy and dulls the cocoa.
